What Can I Learn from a Mini?

Patience... Now before you go off on some track in your mind I think I want to take you on this journey of what I mean by this.

Patience.. So many times in life we all are off on a track heading one direction, forward at a fast pace. We are so emotionally directed to get the things done on our lists, to get the chores over with so we can breathe that sigh of relief. Hurry, hurry, hurry.. Going no where fast.. I hear people, even myself, say "where has the time gone?". Things fly by us at a fast pace, even at times feeling like the hamster on a wheel.

When heading out in the am to feed I take my coffee in hand and stop by to lead the mini to the barn. She has taught me to 'slow up' my pace not just in the steps I take. To slow up my mind in the walk it is taking. Slowly to see the things around me as we walk those tiny steps to the barn. I see more things. The color of a stone that I haven't noticed before, a candy wrapper some child left lay, the color of the leaves already changing... I think about the things on my list and even before I know it I am eliminating some that just are not that big of a priority. I can do that later. I can spend more time just being at peace.

My mind settles, I sip my coffee and we talk as we go. I am living on Indian time again..

This is lovely. She does take tiny little steps. It's kind of like when my son was a toddler & we walked soooo slowly, there was time to see every flower.

Have a happy, peaceful day, RT.

    RT,

This is so true, unfortunately we don't take the time to "smell the roses".Perhaps the world would be a better place if we all weren't in such a hurry, not taking the time to enjoy all the beauty around us-the simple things in life.
