Health of the horse today
I've created this section where discussions can go on about the horses health, questions that may arise and suggestions can be made. I want to take this time to make this STATEMENT below.
** We are NOT licensed veterinarians and we do not take the place of your veterinarian. Please consult with your vet on any questions you may have about your horses health. We are only here to share what has worked for us, new therapies we are learning about among many other things. You should not rely on information in the web pages, databases, mailing lists or other areas of the internet in lieu of consultation with a veterinarian or other pet health care professional. Again, if there are any issues with your horse please consult your vet before trying any of the things discussed here****
Now that said I think that perhaps dividing things into catagories would be helpful. What suggestions would any of you have?
Farrier--Foot Issues
Dental
Body/Muscular
Bone
Lymphatic/Immune/Internal
Taking suggestions....

Great Idea RT!
Worming and Nutrition are two areas that immediately come to mind.
Since this is a rescue, feeding or rehabing the emaciated horse is another big area.
Also a section on Heineke(sp.) scoring and evaluating your horses health would be a good area to add as well.
There are also herbal and natural remedies that are showing some very promising results and you may want to devote a segment of the site to that.

This is a great idea. Especially, the natural and herbal things.

Thanks Kathleen
Theresa and I are working to see how to subdivide into catagories so we can do these. I will add them to it. I think Holistic Healing is a good one. I am going to see about getting Lyn in here also. Perhaps Lorhyl will have time to come in to answer questions when she can too. This will allow for some of the people who have specific questions to ask them. I am also going to see if we can get a section going for Lyn on Training issues/questions. I think this will be something that some folks want to have.
As always I am up to suggestions. Will know more perhaps tomorrow how to subdivide.

The thing that comes to my mind is the basics of forage and feed. Everyone has a different opinion or experience.
Of course the variations depend on the needs of the particular horse. I found an interesting site by the Samuel Roberts NOBLE foundation. It's not the article to end all articles on Horse Forage & Forage Management but it's usefull. www.noble.org/Ag/Forage/HorseForage/index.html
